Last Friday we celebrated Stephen Skorczynski's birthday. He would not disclose the exact number but we are pretty certain it was slightly higher than 21:) Sto Lat Stephen!
I am attaching the revised flyer for the Movie Night series, Ogniem i Mieczem. I was corrected as to who directed the movie. And it was not Andrzej Wajda, but Jerzy Hoffman. My bad:(
This Friday there is no dance practice, as PKM will go to the Poconos! Those that signed up, please contact me with your menu contributions. Paula has kindly arranged for us to get the Harcerze discount for skiing ($39 per person!) and I will bring copies of the release forms for all to sign.
Dance practice will resume next Friday, January 28. As usual, we will begin with Glee at 7:30 and then proceed to Dance Practice at 8:30. We have some administrative issues to address as well as start preparing for February 4, when Dennis Klima will visit us to revive the Wielkopolska Suite! Very exciting! That Saturday, January 29, we have a performance so we will prepare for that as well.
Since Dennis will be here February 4, we will reduce the the Figure Dances Workshop with Jay and Annie to just February 11. I think that may be just enough for us.
Following up on the decisions made in the Nov 2010 meeting, roles of the Dance Group Committee members have been defined;
Richard Klimek - Strategic Advisor He will advise as to where the group should head in terms of which dances to bring back, revise, focus on.
Stephen Szymanik - Costume Overlord In this role Stephen will get an accurate inventory of our costumes and develop a system for distributing them and keeping them in good shape. Although critical to PKM, costumes can be addressed on a more flexible schedule which will allow Stephen to be totally available for for his kids.
Diane Misthal - Operations I will run Friday night practices and address logistics of performances. We believe this approach will allow PKM to get the best resouces available to work for its benefit and look forward to another great year!
