The Polka Lessons for Everyone last Friday night was a great success! Many people attended, regular members as well as alumni and their offsprings:) It was so nice to be part of the multi generational gathering; the alumni sharing their love of Polish dancing (and PKM) with their children. I invite all the alumni to bring their young ones to join us for the Oberek Lessons for Everyone session, which will be scheduled in the spring (thanks for the idea, Jay!) No one is too young to learn the Oberek....
The Polka lessons paid off, as was evident at the Polish Police Ball on Saturday. PKM had record number of tables, 5 to be exact! It seems everyone enjoyed the combination of great food, fabulous music and good company that evening. Of course no Police Ball is complete without our traditional photo session. See attached. More coming next week:)
The Wielkopolska Suite practice was rescheduled for March 11. Please mark it in your calendars as it promises to be a good one. Dennis has been calling me with many ideas for improving the suite. Although it will be slightly shortened, it will be enhanced to include other elements of presentation. We shall call it Wielkopolska 2.0
We will hold the first PKM Meeting of the year on Friday, February 25. Please forward any agenda items to be by next Thursday, Feb 24.
As a reminder, I am attaching the flyer for the upcoming Polish Movie Classic, POTOP, that will be shown at Polish Home on Saturday, February 26 at 4PM. Doors open at 3PM so everyone can enjoy the home baked goodies, and the intriguing introductions provided by our house history buffs, Stephen and Wojtek!
